November 7, 2018 – British Columbia immigration has conducted its largest Entrepreneur draw of all time with the lowest-ever minimum score.
The October 31 draw saw 25 invites issued to business candidates, with a minimum score of 112 points.
The previous largest draw took place in February 2017 and saw 20 candidates invited for British Columbia immigration.
In terms of the minimum score, the previous lowest was 113, in a March 2018 draw.
The B.C. Entrepreneur category conducted its first draw in November 2015.

What Are the Requirements for the B.C. Entrepreneur Category?
The British Columbia Entrepreneur stream is for candidates who wish to immigrate to the province and actively manage a business:
- Establish an eligible new business or purchase and improve an existing business in B.C.
- Investment of minimum $200,000 in the new or existing business.
- Create at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Net worth of minimum $600,000.
- Business and/or management experience.
- Have, or be eligible for, legal immigration status in Canada.
- Have been lawfully admitted in the country where you currently reside.
- Pay a $300 registration fee, $3,500 application fee and $1,000 fee for each key staff application.
Meanwhile, the latest B.C. general draw saw 469 invitations issued via the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
Skilled worker candidates under the province’s Express Entry and direct provincial streams both required a minimum 82 points in the September 19, 2018 draw.
International graduates under both streams needed to score 91 points or more to qualify.
Lastly, entry level and semi-skilled applications required 65 points.

A coveted provincial nomination effectively guarantees selection under the Canada Express Entry System, worth 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
The BC PNP publishes the scores immigrants need to guarantee an invitation for Canada immigration under its programs.
The score needed for an international graduate is 30 points below a skilled worker under both the Canada Express Entry and provincial stream.
For entry-level and semi-skilled workers, that score is lower again.
