There are a number of visas under the Australian Immigration Program for people who cannot meet the higher threshold for an independent skilled visa.
You may qualify for a visa if you can obtain sponsorship from an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia or if you are sponsored by a State or Territory government in Australia. You must agree to live in regional Australia or a low population growth metropolitan area.
A Designated area means any area of Australia with the exception of Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Perth, and Brisbane.
Regional Australia or a low population growth metropolitan area excludes Sydney, Newcastle, the CentralCoast, Wollongong, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, and Perth.
Applicants must be over 18 years and generally under 45 years of age. There are some exceptions to the age requirement and we can assist you with obtaining a suitable visa if you meet certain criteria. You must have good English language ability and recent skilled work experience or have completed an Australian qualification which makes you eligible for the visa.
If you are sponsored there are a number of obligations that the sponsor must comply with under Australian Migration law.
