| Hi. I am from the Phils. I passed my application under the simplified process on dec11, 2006. Got the result on jan.11, 2007. I was not denied but i was asked to use the form 'Application for permanent Residence, Federal Economic Class, Simplified Application Process IMM0008 (O5-2006)E' form. But i did just that! Is there an updated version for this? It was a 3-page form. Also, i was told that the fee amount remitted is incorrect. I paid 24,750.00 (CAD550)via manager's check. Should i pay the processing fee for my whole family? We have 2 kids, all under 12 yrs old. Please help. I have no plans to hire an immigration agency because they charge so much. |

thanks guys. so, i need to prepare cad1400... i checked the web for any update on the form that i used, but it was still the same... i will search again, and maybe i'd get lucky this time. my cousin who is now in canada told me that i would get disappointed when we all get there in canada since i and my husband will be doing lots of work very, very, very much different from our work in our own country (i am a banker in the philippines, and my husband is a civil engr). should i be discouraged? what jobs await us in canada? i'm not afraid of hardwork. for new migrants, is there some special jobs for us? by the way, how much is the pay for just-arrived migrant workers? and how much is the monthly expenses (groceries, rent, bill, tuition, gas, tuition...) for a family of four? thanks. |

| i had a query regarding submitting of documents at a later stage. for instance, if we submit the intitial application and the fees as per the new procedure, we are not supposed to send any documents till they ask for it. i want to know the probable time period between the initial submission of the form and the subsequent request for the documents as asked by them. also maybe after 4 years we are asked to submit the docs, can we send a retrospective experience certificate( meaning that if one has changed his job in the meantime) |

Hi Guys just want let you know as of Sep 01, 2006 CIC introduce a new process for a Federal skill worker. Check this out: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled-simple.html
---------------------------------------------------- Simplified Immigration Application Process - An Introduction ----------------------------------------------------
The Canadian Government is introducing a "Simplified Application Process" for Federal Economic Classes under which applicants will provide only fees plus a modified IMM0008 application at time of initial application, and will be asked to provide supporting documentation only when the visa office is ready to assess.
Highlights of this new process are -
1. It applies to Skilled Workers, Investors, Entrepreneurs and Self-Employed Categories
2. Applicant need not submit supporting documents with immigration application
3. Supporting documents would be requested 4-5 months before beginning of final assessment
4. Full processing fee refundable if applicant do not wish to continue with process before the beginning of final assessment
5. This process is coming in to force on September 01, 2006
Hi ,
I had applied in Dec '05 with all detailed documents. I got my File Number in Feb '06. Since then I have received no correspondence from CIC. How can I find out what is the status of my file? I applied from New Delhi, India. How long does it take to process the forms? Would appreciate any help or advise.
Thanks,
Sujit |

| they said that we should not submit any documents unless they're requiring us to do so....but they also said on the letter they sent to us that it is likely to be processed more quickly if we submit the results of an authorized language test (IELTS) than those that rely on a written submission regarding language ability....which is which?...should we or should we not submit??? |

Hello Friends, Let me tell you one thing Simplified Application Process is not going to increase the speed of processing. CIC has adapted this method just make it simple for them. Normally it takes a lot of time between initial application and when CIC is ready assess the application. In the process they have to take care of all the documents, some times documents get lost, and they ask updated information because information get changed (due to marriage or some other reason). To simplify this now you have to give a simple application. This way you application comes in CIC queue. When CIC is ready to assess your application they will ask you for documents.
Thanks Cool |

Now about times: My guess is it is going to take more time then previous record. Because now number of application has gone up exponentially. Previously when there were 75 marks, it usually took one to two years to finalize the case. Since the marks has been reduced to 67, number of application has also gone up, and hence processing time also gone up. Similarly my guess is with Simplified Application Process, number of application will further go up, and it will further increase processing time.
Thanks Cool |
