Dear True_Canada, In every country contains both Plus and Minus. In canada may be few are like this as shown in your link. In india more people are living same as shown in the website. You should compare how many people are facing dificulties like this with other countries. I feel Canada is much much better than other countries. |

I just checked my online status but the "in process" (underlined word) has disappeared!!! I was wondering if anyone else's is same. I know that they did some maintenance work this morning but I don't think anything should change.

My wife provided supporting documents as requested on Nov 3rd last year by email. She delivered personally documents to Vienna embassy in the beg of Jan. So far, nothing. She even called and left a message on the answering machine to find out if there's anything new. Nothing by far.
I know they should start processing the documents 4 months after their request. Anybody has similar experience? |

Hi,
I am planning to file for Canadian GC. I have all the documents ready but had a question regarding police certificate.
We went to a LiveScan Agency in Los Angeles, gave our finger prints and got a letter. The letter is from Department of Justice. Sacramento
But is this the right police certificate needed? Or should we get out Fingerprinting on FD258 and get the letter from FBI? How long does that process take? Can anyone tell me how / where can i get the FD 258 and the fingerprinting if I have to get it from FBI?
Thank you. |

Hi all,
I'm new to this site. It's great that I found this, I have been burdened by stress and what not to apply for PR.
I plan to apply after 14 May this year, because that would mean I have one full year of work experience. I know that I have to apply using the REGULAR application because I have arranged employment, and will be submitting my application to Buffalo. I have a few questions to the experts out there :) I would appreciate as much information as possible.
1. I find it dumb to take any english language proficiency test when I have graduated from university here. I speak, write, read proficient English even though I was not born in Canada. I have been "one" with the English language since I was born.
Has anyone provided a self-written letter (with supporting documents)of proof for language proficiency and got through the application successfully? Please share your story.
2. As I am currently working in Canada, do I need to obtain a police certificate from the Canadian police as well?
3. Do you suggest going through an immigration lawyer as a representative? (are they of any useful help at all ...)
I look forward to your guidance. Thank you. |

jjme, 1) Look at the other thread, I answered your question there. 2) You don't need to for now, they will request a RCMP Police certificate if they need you to do it. Another option is to wait till you get your file number and then get one yourself anyways. 3) It's not needed unless your case is complex. It will not change anything regarding the speed of the application, etc.
Good Luck |

Dear Marius, As far as my own experience goes, you will be asked to revise your personal details(if you will be called for an interview after a lapse of time). And that may make you eligible for points at that point of time. You need not worry. pkv

Hey guys, if everyone knows please help.
I applied under the simplified process. How do they count points for the work experience? If they take by the date of application - then I am in trouble. But maybe they will count the points by the date they'll call me for the interview and before that I will get some more experience?
