You should not worry because all the applications submitted after Feb.2008 will be reviewed and processed in the light of rules notified and as per the list jobs in demand. You just wait as the notification is about to be notified in october 2008.

Looks like I will have a choice of submitting either the simplified or the regular version of skilled worker application. (I think I qualified to do either)...so which route should I take? which will be processed faster and less stressful on the applicant?
Thanks. |

Hi Guys, I have decided to apply for Candian Immigration Porcess. I have more than 10 years of USA working experience and have my studies done in USA. At December 2005, I went back to my country and back to USA in January 2008 with fresh H1B visa. I was going through the Canadian Immigration process for Skilled Labor and I have the following questions: 1) What is difference between Regular and Simplified process? 2) Which process should I use to apply for Canadian Immigration? 3) How long does it take to complete the process (from apply to accualy receiving the approval letter) 4) Any recent changes in Candaian Immgiration process that I need to know?
I will really appreciate if you would answer the above questions.

Two points are worth consideration for choosing a centre for making application-
1.Convenience & Cost 2.Processing Time
If You do not mind cost & you can easily take out time out of your commitment, apply from any place, where processing time is less/least. But, if cost & convenience is a consideration, then choose a place accordingly.
In your case, if you are going to stay in China for a long time 4-5 yrs, file it at Bejing . If you intend to move out of China early , better to file from Manila.
Had I been in your position, I would have preferred Manila over Beijing.

Hi everyone! I am new to this site and I find it very informative and helpful. I am a Filipino citizen but I am residing in China for a year now and is planning to stay for another year. Can anyone tell me if I should make an application for immigration for skilled workers in the Canadian Embassy in Manila or in Beijing? I have browsed the official website but I can't find a clean answer. Personally I want my application to be processed in Manila because it's more convenient for me, but I don't know if that is possible, since I'm not residing in the Philippines at the moment. I want to start my application even if I'm in another country since it takes a minimum of 4 years for the application to be approved (for the Philippines, at least). Hope someone can reply to this one.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Jignesh, It took me 7 yrs and 10 months with CHC New Delhi to get my visa just a week back . You need to be patient with CHC. I have been told, applications submitted after Feb 27, 08 are not being attended.
So, have a bit of more patience. In view of election in Canada, better to be patient for a few more months - say, Nov/ Dec, 08.
Good Luck. pkverma

| I am from Bangladesh currently studying in Sweden. I send my simplified application to London on September 3, 2008. But I have not heard get any acknowledgment yet. Is this delay normal? Can anyone tell me how long does it take usually? |
