It takes around 30 to 45 days for Sydney to respond. Mine took 35 days.
Make sure that you check your email regularly, as these days they are not sending it through snail mail.

Hi guys!
Im a uni student in Lebanon. My family applied for an immigration to Canada(Quebec), and we passed the interview in 15/12/2008. Then we applied for a pr visa and recieved a letter containing a new file# and a reciept of the pr fees on 26/2/2009. Since then I have not recieved any thing from the visa office! I know it needs a couple of month more for the pr to be finalized, but I would like to know how much time does it take( 9 month ,12 month ??) The CIC website states 30% finalized in 9 month, 50% finalized in 11 month, 70% finalized in 15 month.... I dont get it ?!!
Is there anyone who can help ?!

HiKa3far,
I might not know exactly what informations you have but I know for a thing that when they send you a file # and receipt of fees it takes up to a year for them to process the file. You need to understand that you had to go through two distinctive immigration offices. First the provincial one where the Quebec government decides on your eligibility and when the answer is yes, they ask you to submit a new application file to a federal immigration office and that is where it takes more time to process. So you should wait to hear from them in the next couple of months where they will request a medical exam (If you haven't done them yet) and then a right of permanent residence fee. This fee is different from the one you paid(application fee)
I hope this helps you.

Hello Everyone,

I have couple of questions regarding the process of an undergraduate international student applying for immigration.

In detail, I am an International student, studying architecture here in canada, and this will be my final year in the undergraduate program.

I want to apply for Immigration as a Federal Skilled worker or even as a Canadian Experience Class. However, I haven't graduated yet, I have two more semesters left.

Could I apply right now, and by the time they process my application, I would have graduated?

As a co-op Student, I have acquired more than one year of continuous full-time paid work in my field. Would that qualify me to apply for Immigration?

I would really appreciate it, if someone could help me out here, from his or her own experience, or knows of someone that went through the process as an international student.

Thank You

Are you sure - as It has been 47 days since my application was delivered, and I have received no response yet. Is there any way to contact them to check on your application?

Hi,

Firstly do check your mail for the email address that you had given in application.
Secondly check with your bank if the bank draft you submitted has been encashed or not. If the draft has been presented at any Canadian bank, then it means that your application has been accepted. In this case it would be better to mail them...

Hi,
I have question. I am international student in Toronto and I was going to apply for permanent residence as a skilled worker, but I just noticed this statement in CIC website :
"New: All applicants in the Federal Skilled Worker Class, must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office in Canada as of April 1, 2009."
This is a deadline for application. Doeas this mean that I cannot apply anymore?
It doesn't say anything about what I should do. Anyone has any information? Thank You.

Hi Rreezzaa,
Unless I don't understand your query but I don't see where there is a deadline in that statement. It simply means that starting on April 1, 2009, applicants in FSW have to submit applications to CIO.
So all you have to do is to mail initial application to CIO, and that new regulation started April 09 and is ongoing.
If you are already an international student, there is no need to apply under FSW class, check the CEC(Canadian Experience Class) and see if you fill the requirements. CEC is more accomodating and faster than FSW. Good luck,

Dear all,

I am an electronics engineer working in uae since one and a half years in a construction contracting firm under electrical department.

I see myself falling under the 0711 category which lists the construction managers post.
Construction manager is probably a higher post at my level but i might b categorized as a project coordinator.

does my bachelor degree in electronics and one and a half years experience since the time of my passout upto now enough for me applying as a project coordinator?is construction posts just meant for civil engineers? construction involves structural, electrical and mechanical works as per wht i think!

I am working under my project manager and handling electrical works of construction sites as well as preparing estimations for same kind of projects and other such obligations like dealing with site workers and suppliers and main contractors.

is there any other category which i might fall in?

Please help me out guys with ur response. should i proceed in submitting my application as a project coordinator. i have completed my engineering in december 2007. and i am electronics engineer by degree.

Thanks,
Maryam

I am moving to Canada and currently going through a visa company. They told me that my application had been received at NS June 3rd .

I am trying to get a refund back for something I paid incorrectly last year. I received a letter from CIC London today July 18th to say that I need to apply to Vegreville for therefund (which is fine) but they have no record of my FSW application on file.

My question is how long does it take for them to enter your details into the system ? As now I am a little worried, as it has been over a month I applied.

Thanks in advance

hi dear
thanks for reply may i know how can u say if DD encashed by the office in canada means file accepted?

there are two possibilities.

1: they present DD first of all to transfer amount in their account and after getting fee they open file for working.
2: after completing all assessment when file accepted then in the end they present DD and transfer amount in their account.

can any one quote any reference how they work in this regard means transfering fee before or after?

and one thing more i would like to add it id FDD so u can contact issuar bank and ask they to confirm about they payment has been made or not yet. for this u have to ask bank to check their Nastro Account Reconciliation Statment if your DD number is still in that statment it means DD is not yet presented if your DD number is not in that Statment as outstanding it means it has been presented and bank can also confirm the exact date of fund transfer.

regards,
Cheeta

Hi guys, I am so new to this forum I feel lonely. I sent my application through ***** Uganda and they called me saying they had file my application with CHC Nairobi June 9th. To this day there has been no response from CHC Nairobi. The ***** manager here says the delay was because my application falls between the critical dates of Feb 27th 2008 and November 27th between which times the bill concerning fast tracking of the FSW visa was being processed into a law. The manager further states that these files which fall in this time period were shipped from CHC Nairobi to Nova Scotia for processing and await AOR. My problem is that people who have applied after us through the same branch are getting their file Numbers on the grounds that their files were sent directly to Nova Scotia and did not have to go through CHC Nairobi. Does anybody out there know why our files (Feb 27th 2008 and November 27th 2008) are taking so long and whether there is a way to prove that ***** submitted out applications to CHC and that these same files have been transferred to Nova Scotia? Thanks.
