You can pay the application fee by Credit Card - Visa, Mastercard or AMEX effective Sept 8, 2009. This is the form IMM5620E form. I just mailed mine last Saturday and I use payment by credit card.

AOA to All brothers and sisters!

I'm posting for the first time on this forum and hope to get a positive response from you guys. My father is a university professor here in Pak and he qualifies for the federally skilled workers class immigration to canada. We applied for immigration on 4th June and got the first e-mail on 4th July that you qualify for immigration and send the complete application along with documents to the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad. So we had been arranging those documents which are mentioned in the checklist. In a day or two we are going to send the complete application. I still have some questions left un-answered.

1. Do we have to submit ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES OF DEGREES for my father and my mother?
2. Do we have to submit ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATES for the whole family? My parents do not have their birth certificate so we are sending copy of National Identity Card (in English) and Secondary school certificate to certify that the date of birth is as mentioned on the application for both my father and mother. Will that suffice?
3. We do not have funds available in our bank account so we have evaluated our property from two property dealers so as to verify that we own more than that required amount of funds for immigration. Is it going to work?
4. Should the ORIGINALS of the employment letters be sent with the application?

We are not sending any originals with our application, instead we have notarized copies of all the originals by showing originals to the notary public. We are doing this because the location we live in is not very reliable from mail point of view and also the mailing system of Pakistan is just not reliable. So obviously my father can not take the risk of losing every original degrees and other documents. So we are sending the notarized copies signed by a notary public. We are hopeful that even if the CIC need to have the ORIGINALS, they will send us the letter that send originals. But we are still not sure what will their move be. Can any one here has had the same experience or have any idea about it?

I submitted my application under FSW category and my application was received at Nova Scotia on June 22nd 09 but I have not gotten an acknowledgement response as yet. According to the response time it take approx 6-8wks to get a response acknowledging receipt of your application but I have not heard from NS as yet. HOw long did it take you or anyone to get a first response from NS?

Original documents should be submitted through FEDEX. You will be required to collect your original documents back from the FEDEX office later when they call you.

Kindly visit the Fedex and confirm the said before submission.

hi everyone,

We are in the final stages of the immigration process. Embassy people have asked to submit our original passports and any old expired passport if any. I had my old passport but now it's misplaced or i guess it's lost.
So what do i do? Should i only send my new passport or i have the photocopy of my old passport, will it solve the purpose?

Thanking in anticipation.

As suggested by people this new change will make the application process just easier. but according to me if you have a complicated case for example my case trying to prove 1 year work experience by part time work + full time ,it's always a good idea to supply additional documentation. If you case is straight forward then it's good to use this easier method

Another thing I want to mention to people in this forum,I have read a lot of posts in this forum where people have suggested to do police clearance and IELTS before applying to fasten processing. Read the following update with the simplified processing:

Important: Do not submit any police certificate, proof of medical exam, proof of language test results or any other document before the visa office asks you to do so.

So CIC doesn't want us to send these documents as some of them expire by the time they get to processing the case.

Hey nanamani5, I have the same situation. Sent my application on August 13 and still got no response. When did you submit yours?

Can somebody explain me what the intent of sending all the applications to Sydney/Canada first is? Is it supposed to make the process quicker? Buffalo applications used to be processed for about 9 month. Should it be even faster now?
