An important information to share with new applicants:
I lodged my application SAP at New Delhi, Canadian Embassy which they recd on 19th Sep 2006.
I have recd their AOR alongwith File number ,dated 24th Oct 2006 wherein they have estimated the time duration from 48 months to 54 months till the time they shall start processing my application.
Let me go for a deep slumber, Please wake me up after 5 years.

Congrats gbadrain for your AOR.

Incidentally I had submitted my application to the Canadian Embassy, New Delhi on Sep 1, 2006 and I am still yet to recieve any letter from them. By the way, did you get a mail from them or did you get a letter in hardcopy?

Did you contact them for the letter or it arrived on its own at the corresponding address?

hey gbadrain

A good advice now is to hibernate and wake after 6 years or else you are going to be very nervous thinking about the delays in your application. The process time of SAP at NEWDELHI is the slowest on earth so be patient and dont rely on the timeframes.
best wishes

Hi mike, How far is it true that the documents which the applicant submits to the embassy are sent to Canada for verification/assessment etc. I doubt if they are assessed in their respective Canadian embassies in the applicants home country . Therefore , I dont agree if "process time of SAP at NEWDELHI is the slowest on earth".
What do ya say?

Thanks dear but still a long way to go...miles to go before I sleep...lol
Ok now abt ur doubts>
I have got the hardcopy via post(not email)and I contacted nobody considering that they shall not respond for such issues.Thru online www.cic.gc.ca when I entered my file number to find out the Status, it showed the processing date starting from 17th october 2006.
May I suggest something to find out if ur application and ur Draft was correctly submitted or not.
Check thru ur bank, if the money which u had send to Canadian Embassy is transacted or not.
All the best and be patient

hey
Since there is a huge number of application in NEWDELHI office , every case after AOR is sent to storage for 3-4 years. Then the backgroud checks also will take 6-11 month so the process in india is slow compared to that in buffalo , london .
(documents which the applicant submits to the embassy are sent to Canada for verification/assessment) i think this is not true , only bg checks are processed in canada.
best wishes,

In next six years every thing will change. We are wasting time and money. I applied in Jan2004 and 35months has passed and no information. My friend applied for Australia in Aug2005 and he has visa stamped on his passport in Sep2006.Even now I am thinking to apply for Australia and hopping will get the visa two years earlier than Canada.

hey
Ya indeed you are completly right , but not all the applicants suffer from waiting 6 years , this is only executive to Newdelhi and damascs. I cant understand this discramination since canada claims that it is a great country and the land of fairness but what their embassies are doing is not equitable.Australian immigration authorities are much better than canadian one's but as a country and life conditions canada is better. Hope that the criteria used in processing the applications is changed to end this night mare.
good luck

Hi,
I completely agree with Mike220 with his statement because right before we sent our application to Canadian Embassy here in the Manila, a friend of mine already asked me to choose Australia over Canada. Advantages like the Climate, near the country which is just down south, the air fare is cheap, the Australian Government would even allow you to work in New Zealand(even you are already a citizen of Australia), they allow you to come back in your home country without spending three(3) years, there is no required amount of Settlement Fund, and if you're into IT industry the ACS(Australian Computer Society)will be helping you to look for a job the suits you. But still we chose Canada because the cost of living is totally expensive in Australia and the thing that I am afraid of is that we know no one on that place unlike Canada like most of my relatives are already there.

Even i know that the result will take like forever. I can't really even imagine why it will take them years in processing such applications?I believe that they could do better than this.An applicant who is willing to wait and sacrifice for years is not really sure if their application will b approved. The dark side of the story is after a long wait, some of us will not be approved. There is really a false hope here. But I guess we have to live with it.Is there anything that we can do? Nah!
