I Just got back from Toronto... i loved there!!!
I want to apply this new simplified process as skilled worked to Canada and i'm a kind of lost..
1. Do i need to select exactly a place(city) to go before apply ?? 2. I'm studying English and French... What is the easiest process... To French Canada or English Canada??

Hi, me and my family wish to migrate to Canada, may I know what is PCC, IELTS ? Could it be a test for us to pass ? What if we fail the test? Thank you.

OK, so you submit the fee and the application and while you wait for the CIC to ask you for supporting papers, your PCCs, IELTS, etc. will expire. I don't see any reason why the initial asessment time should become shorter, and they probably won't start IA before the file is compete anyway. Doesn't sound like much of improvement. Under the old system, at least if your file is not complete they'd send it back and not charge the application fee.

PCC = Police clearance certificate. You need to get one from all countries wherever U had lived more than 6 months after turning 18 yrs. IELTS: Its lang proficiency test reqd for ALL non-native English speakers. There are two types in it. 1) general training 2) academic.. For Immigration purposes, Its the GENERAL TRAINING thats reqd. GOOD LUCK |

Hi All, I was going through the thread for Simplified process but did not find this link hence I am posting it here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/faq-simple.html
These are FAQs on Simplified Process.
Hope it resolves most of our queries.
Personally, my query was resolved with the statement below:
Can a foreigner living in the United States who has legal status submit a simplified application?
No. Since Buffalo continues to use the regular application process, American citizens and other residents of the United States must submit a full application to our visa office in Buffalo, which will then forward it to the visa office closest to the applicant’s residence.
Regards, MM

To be honest I don't have much information about the simplified process. I have not done any reading on it. But with the old process you have 3 choices
1) Federal 2) Provincial Nominee 3) Quebec-selected immigrant.
I will give some info about the 3rd option. That is the one I have done. If you want to go with the 3rd option you have to consult the Quebec authorities website (http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/index.asp). To summarize that, what you need to do is to apply first for what they call CSQ (Certificate of Selection of Quebec). It is document awarded to you by the governement of Quebec if you meet some requirements and one of them is to have a certain level of knowledge of the french language. There are some other requirements you will find a full listing on the website. So assuming that you passed that first step you will be set for applying for the immigrant visa. I will suggest you to do some reading on the cic website too www.cic.ca
***************************************************************** You want to know which is the easiest process? In terms of processing time and requirements, I will tell you that the Quebec route has some advantages (less professional experience, less required funds, etc) over the Federal but it does not mean that it is better than the Federal route. I would tell you this if your intent is to settle in the Province of Quebec, then this will be a good choice for you. If you still have some questions other members will certainly help you.

RAV,
Current time taken by IO's to process the application is around 62 months from CIC, New Delhi. So, in that case, it seems you have to wait for another 4 years (based on current processing time).
All the best and have patience.

Where i can find the best place to go in Canada?? Are Vancouver and Toronto big cities and because of that not good places to indicate in the process o immigration??(maybe because there are a lot of skilled workes?? Or that's not a problem??
I've been to Toronto and i loved there... but i'm a kind of afraid to select that city...

Hi, I have received a letter from Canadian Embassy (generic letter) after four (4) years since I submitted my application. The Embassy is requesting to update my documents. Do I have to get new NBI Clearance (Police Clearance) and take Englist Test again, etc.
I have submitted my Englist Test (TOEIC), and NBI Clearance together with my application forms four years ago. Do I have to take new NBI Clearance and English test again. Does TOEIC test acceptable in lieu of IELTS test. Please help me with this regard.
Thanks,
xavier |

Hello Xavier, This means they have started assessing your application. Now is the time to send any update on your documents. Hopefully soon your case is going to be finalized.
