Hi Funnybird,

I am from India currently working in US. I am planning to get the Indian police clearance via Indian Consulate at San Francisco. On their website they say that they will stamp the clearance on my passport whereas CIC website says that they need original police clearance document. Since only photocopy of the passport is sent while submitting the application please suggest what you had done in your case ?

the idea of having a sticky thread for FAQs is not to ask another FAQ, but to read it to get an answer for your question.

Hi Guys....

I need your input...

I applied for PR in April 2005 and have been asked to send the updated documents by 20 April 2007.... Which I have sent...

In the due course, I also planned to move to Canada for further higher studies... I have also secured admission to the Fall 2007 batch. (MBA course from Top institute)

I am now confused with regard to student Visa vs Landing permit...

Few questions which are bothering me are : --
1. Can I apply for student visa
2. If yes, then how will it effect me
3. Or should I wait for The final landing permit and then move on the same to canada
4. But If i wait then I risk the chance of missing the college...(As i dont know how many months will it take to get the final landing permit,..

Please do give your inputs

Thanks

This list likely still leaves a lot of questions. If you have more, post in the relevant thread and I will attempt to answer them.

I will continue to add to this soon, possibly with information regarding Arranged Employment in Canada.

Colin, Ihad filed my application for PR Canada from New delhi in Jun-2004...thru m/s Abhinav....and you wrote the forwarding letter....after filing I lost my current job in Oct-2005( after20-yrs of exp.)...since then I am unemployed....will this affect my case for PR to canada
