| Hi.. I just applied under the entreprenuer business immigration program.... for that you need to show business experience/education/etc... you get points for different categories. You also have to have a newt worth of at leas 300k in canadian dollars. you might want to go on to canadian immigration website for more detailed information... |

The "business investor " class requires that you not only have MONEY to invest, but you also have to have previous, verified , managerial experience in actually RUNNING a similar business, in YOUR country.
As for the MONEY, it has to YOURS, and it has to be CASH, not land, or loans , or mortages . The Canadian Government has learned to be much more carefull about accepting paperwork that purports to show the amounts that a applicant has in cash. "show money " is now the wrong way to go.
A further requirement is that the individual investor will be creating jobs FOR Canadians, not their family . The days of buying a cheap motel, and bringing in 20 people, to be "staff members " are over.

Hi Daisy1985, I have the same question. I'm on a specific work permit here and my wife has an open work permit. She started her own business. Now we would like to know if there's any way to change the status of our stay in Canada and make my wife the applicant (switching to a different type of immigration) without leaving the country? Is it possible?
Thank you,
Dimitry |
