Hello all,
I have read many forums regarding thos but haven't got a clear answer. I need to make a bank draft of 550 canadian dollars payable to "Receiver General for Canada". Bank of America said they will do that only in US dollars. Applications to Sydney, canada must in canadian funds. I am sure many of you have gone through this process. Could you send me some feedback. I know many people also apply to visa offices in US. But when applying as category 1 skilled worker, applications must be sent to canada and the fee must be in canadian funds.

Thanks in advance
Ram

Ram,

I went to BOA yday and asked for a Bank Draft in CAD currency and they accepted my application and they had wired the details... They have asked me to come and collect the draft today in their office. They had charged me $25.

Cheers,
Gopi

Hi Gops,

I am new in this forum. I just completed filling up my application forms (skilled worker) to Canada. Now, i need to get a bank draft. i do not know where and how to do it. Should i just go to Bank of America and request them to make an international bank draft?

i read in the other forums that some banks are requesting for the "address" of the bank in Canada for them to issue a bank draft. Is this really necessary? I mean, how did you do it? All we need to give to BOA is the "Pay to" which is the Receiver General for Canada, right?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Skilledworker

Skilled,

Please go any Bank of America branch (the persons in the counter might not be aware of the bank draft and you should check with the other persons in the bank) and tell them you need a bank draft in CAD currency. They will fill in the Draft form and will take your signature. They will wire the request and will ask you to come and collect the draft the very next working day. They will charge you $25 (even if you an Account).

All the best!

Cheers,
Gopi
