If you are inside Canada

You can pay your fees online if you have Adobe® Acrobat Reader software, a printer and a Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card. See the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.

or

Pay fees at a financial institution in Canada:
If you cannot or do not want to pay online, you must get an original receipt of payment form IMM 5401 so you can pay at a financial institution (such as a bank or Western Union). This form is not available online so you must order an original receipt by mail.

Fees receipt:
See your application guide to find out if you must include the receipt of payment (IMM 5401) when applying from within Canada. Once you have paid your fees online, you must print a receipt of payment form and include it with your application. Be sure to print the actual receipt, not the “payment confirmation form” page.

Hey there hsharma2080

I just talked to an agent on the phone at CPC-Mississauga. I did the same as you and have just asked the same question. The agent told me that it is okay to pay the fees if you are sponsoring your Spouse. I paid my fees for the RPRF (Right to Permanent Resident Fee - aka landing fee) online on April 2nd, 2009. I have decided that I will simply courier the receipt to CPC-M tomorrow itself. I would only suggest you send the payment for the RPRF once you have received your sponsorship approval letter because then you will know your "Client ID" number - which is what you need to write onto the receipt in this situation.

I hope that this was clear and I wish us both luck cause I'm still a bit apprehensive about it but as mentioned before, I don't want to face yet ANOTHER two month delay!

Cheers!

That's what i am thinking as well Tranquil.meadows because i don't want to be delay because of the RPRF fee. My application was approved on March 25, 2009 and i have received the approval letter from CPC on March 29, 2009. Now my file was forwarded to ND office for further processing. Hopefully will get visa for my common-law wife. I am also planning to pay the fee here because i do have Client ID#.

Good luck on your application.
