| hi just want to know how you are able to contact the MP. my husband and I have filed our application on May 14, 2009. we're still in the waiting process. i'm very happy because my husband will be spending his 3 weeks vacation this september. |

Let me add a little self promoting in the new Philippines thread.
My wife has been here in Canada since the end of November 2008 now.
After 2 1/2 grueling years of immigration problems.
Feel free to check out my profile for our timeline experience.
If any of you are planning on visiting in/or around Davao city feel free to contact me as my wife and I bought a 2 bedroom condo there and have been renting it out mostly to other couples that were in our situation.
I know this is a little bit of self advertising however as a couple, renting out a nice fully furnished apartment on a short term basis is a much nicer experience than staying in hotels.

Jan 26 recieved a letter from Manila requesting passports, originals of birth certificate, marriage cerificate, and advisory of marriage.
Feb 02 submitted documents and passport as they requested
March 02 received letter requesting payment for $490 for the RPRF fees Dated Feb 25
March 17 RPRF was recieved and Manila was notified payment was made
March 25th found out that the embassy sent a letter to her on Feb 26th. Never received it. whent to post office they had a letter, but not the right one.
March 25th received all her info back from the embassy. Birth cert, etc.
March 26th went back to the embasy to get a copy of the letter sent on Feb 26th. Handed request information on the same day. They requested more personal info, from 2008 to present. Little confused why the start of 2008 they needed, beacuse we sent upto November 2008.
June 2nd spoke to my MP, they emaile the embasy while i was on the phone talking to her
June 3rd received a call from my MP, letting me know what was happening.
June 22nd ecas decision made.

wow. i didn't know there's a new thread for Manila Timeline. anyway, the original one is really a big help for all the filipinos. Unfortunately not in favor of those who can't understand our native language.

| just need to ask if what courier does canadian embassy in manila use to send AOR? coz my wife missed the postman yesterday and she did not know if which courier to go to pick it up instead. also she tried goin to some couriers already but they said they dont have it.. our knockle head neighbours did not guide the postman to our house... thank you |

They don't use couriers for correspondence. The only time they use courier is when they send the visa, and they've been using DHL for that. |

i hate this waiting game...
Can i visit home while my husband's papers' IN PROCESS? I know Canadian Citizens can but im not pretty sure for PR's like me. |

We sent our application on September 17, 2009
Received in Mississauga on September 23, 2009
Received letter approving sponsor dated October 13
Now waiting for AOR and request for passport.
I am concerned as the mail in our area is very unreliable. About one half of the mail folks sent me, I never received. I notice the average time for AOR after sponsor approval is approximately one month.
Can anyone tell me if CIC actually uses regular mail for these important documents or do they use LBC or another courier?
