Hey all. I wonder if anyone can give me some info. At the moment I have a Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education - I am hoping to relocate to Canada and live with my partner, but I dont know if this qualification is recognised in Canada. I've searched online and found zilch. Does anyone know how to convert the qualification or how to find out if its recognised. Would be GREATLY appreciated thanks :)

Hi chloena,

Early childhood educators are in demand in BC. However, in order to practice here as well as elsewhere in Canada, you first have to get your qualifications evaluated.

I don't know what a Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education is and I assume few Canadians would know. Your best bet is to check with a foreign credentials assessment organization in the province where you want to reside.

Here's a list of assessment agencies in Canada: http://www.canadianimmigrant.ca/resources/article/5985.

Hope it helps! Good luck!

Hi Cholena,

I agree, you should contact the CICIC (The Canadian Information Centre for Int'l Credentials) which is listed in the link provided by "flyingpigs".

You can use this checklist as well to help you in settling in. It has a section on evaluating professional credentials.

All the best!

Chloena,

Good luck for you. I had a girlfriend who took ECE and she just couldn't make any money from it. Even the qualified workers here are generally grossly underpaid.
