Sep 05, 2019 – Three Canadian cities are among the top 10 ‘most liveable’ in the world, according to a new report from the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Calgary (#5), Vancouver (#6) and Toronto (#7) make Canada the joint best represented country in the top 10, alongside Australia.
The list is headed by Austrian capital Vienna.

In compiling the list, the EIU rated 140 countries in five important areas, namely Stability, Healthcare, Culture & Environment, Education and Infrastructure.
Very little separated the Canadian cities in the list, with Calgary scoring an overall 97.5, Vancouver scoring 97.3 and Toronto scoring 97.2.
At the top of the list, Vienna scored an overall 99.1.

The British Columbia city lost marks on Stability with a score of 95, and Infrastructure with a score of 92.9.

Toronto managed perfect scores of 100 for Stability, Healthcare and Education.
However, the Ontario giant lost marks for Culture & Environment, for which it scored 97.2 and Infrastructure with an 89.3.
Meanwhile, the report also list the top 10 least liveable cities, with war-torn Damascus in Syria taking the title of the world’s least liveable city, with an overall score of 30.7 out of 100.
