Employers added 58,900 jobs in May across Canada, the biggest increase in seven months. The majority of gains were in Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia, according to Statistics Canada. On average, employment has risen by 15,200 per month over the past half year, with the private sector leading the way. Factories boosted hiring for the second month in a row, while business services, finance and the retail sector all increased their hiring in May.
