Caring for Children & People with High Medical Needs Classes: Criteria for Employment Requirements

Last Updated on August 28, 2016

Applicants would need to demonstrate that they meet the relevant employment requirements of the eligible occupation specified in their application. These relevant employment requirements could typically include education, training or any other qualifications specified in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) description.

Situations could arise where applicants under the caring for people with high medical needs class obtained their qualifying work experience in Canada as:

              • Registered nurses

              • Registered psychiatric nurses i.e. National Occupational Classification (NOC) 3012 or,

              • Licenced practical nurses i.e. National Occupational Classification (NOC) 3233

In this scenario, the applicants would need to demonstrate that they possess the relevant licences for practising in Canada. In addition, they would need to provide the appropriate proof of registration with the competent regulatory body as required, in their intended province or destination. They would usually need to provide this at the time they apply.
