              Fees for Applications for Electronic Travel Authorisations, Visas and Permits

              The Fees for Permanent Resident Visas

              Application

              The Sponsorship Application (per application)

              $75

              Family Class Applicants

              Applicants applying under the Family Class can pay their fees when the sponsor files the sponsorship application

              The principal applicant

              $475

              The principal applicant, if under 19 years of age and not a spouse or common-law partner

              (including a dependent child of the sponsor, a child to be adopted and an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild)

              $75

              The spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner of the principal applicant or, where a transitional provision applies, a family member of the principal applicant who is 22 years of age or older

              $550

              A family member of the principal applicant who is under 19 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner, or is 19 years of age or older who has been unable to be financially self-supporting since before the age of 19, due to a physical or mental condition

              $150

              Where a transitional provision applies, a family member of the principal applicant who:

              • Is under 22 years of age, unmarried and not in a common-law relationship or,
              • Is 22 years of age or older and has been unable to be financially self-supporting since before the age of 22, due to a physical or mental condition

              The Self-Employed Persons Class, Start-Up Business Class, Immigrant Investor Venture Capital Class, Quebec Investor Class or Quebec Entrepreneur Class applicants

              The Fees for Biometrics

              The authorities require citizens of certain countries and territories to give their biometrics i.e. fingerprints and photographs, when these individuals apply for:

              • Visitor visas
              • Study permits or,
              • Work permits

              The biometrics fee typically covers the cost of collecting fingerprints and digital photos. It also covers the Visa Application Centre (VAC) core services for clients who submitted their applications through Visa Application Centres (VACs).

              Typically, the core services offered by Visa Application Centres (VACs) comprise:

              • Application completeness checks
              • Transmission of applications to the visa office
              • Transporting supporting documents to and from the visa office
              • Transporting passports to and from the visa office and,
              • Online application tracking services
