May 8, 2017 – The Ontario immigration office has announced it will start issuing weekly Notifications of Interest (NOIs) for its most popular Canada Express Entry stream.
The Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream will be paused and reopened throughout 2017 to control the volume of applications.
Under the stream, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) selects applicants with the right work experience, education and language ability. They must also score at least 400 Comprehensive Ranking System points in the Canada Express Entry Pool.
Human Capital Priorities Stream: Requirements
- Pending application under the Federal Express Entry system;
- Minimum of 1-year of full time, or full time equivalent work experience under NOC occupation level 0, A or B;
- Canadian equivalent Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD;
- Minimum CLB level 7 in IELTS general exam;
- Intention to reside in the Province of Ontario;
- Minimum of 400 points under the Federal Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System.
A statement from Ontario immigration said: “Prospective applicants are encouraged to create a new profile in the Canada Express Entry system to make it easier for Ontario to identify their profile during its search of the federal government’s Express Entry pool.
“Please note that if you create a new profile, you must delete your old profile. “
The OINP recently opened its International Masters Graduate Stream, and reached its intake limit on the same day.
An OINP statement said numbers would be monitored to determine if it will again be reopened.
Meanwhile, the International PhD Graduate Stream remains open for applications.
