According to new rankings released by the Career and Education Network QS, Montreal is ranked as the “Best Student City” in the country, even higher than Toronto.
To qualify for consideration, a city must have a population of at least 250,000 people and have at least two universities recognized in the QS university rankings.

The rankings take into account the size of the city’s student population — but takes special notice of diversity and tolerance, and the ratio of international students to locals.
Only Melbourne beat out Montreal for its “student mix”.
Here are the top 10 student cities, according to QS:
1. Paris
2. Melbourne
3. London
