August 31, 2018 – Ontario immigration has past the milestone of 1,000 Notifications of Interest for French Speaking Skilled Workers in 2018.
Canada’s largest province conducted its 29th FSSW draw this year on August 30, issuing NOIs to 29 candidates under the Express Entry-linked stream.
The draw focused on candidates who submitted their profiles between January 1 and August 30.
There have now been 1,006 FSSW NOIs issued in 2018.

Ontario sets no minimum points requirement for the FSSW stream, for which candidates need a Canadian Language Benchmark of 7 for French and 6 for English.
They also need a Canadian-equivalent post-secondary degree and one year of work experience.
Ontario had committed to increasing the number of French speaking immigrants it welcomes through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

What Are The Requirements For The Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream?
To qualify applicants must have:
- Pending application under the Federal Express Entry system;
- Minimum of 1-year of full time, or full time equivalent work experience under NOC occupation level 0, A or B;
- Canadian equivalent Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD;
- Minimum CLB level 7 in TEF exam (French); AND minimum CLB 6 in IELTS exam (English)
- Intention to reside in the Province of Ontario.
The OINP began publishing information about specific draws at the beginning of 2018.
There have now been 29 French Speaking Skilled Worker draws in 2018.
Ontario has also conducted several Human Capital Priorities, Skilled Trades and Entrepreneur Stream draws this year.

The OINP has received an increased federal government allocation for 2018 of 6,600 nominations, up 600 on the number for 2017.
