Express Entry Draw # 23 of 2016: 2,080 Invitations, lowest SCG score at 472

Last Updated on Março 25, 2018

November 2nd 2016 - Canadian Immigration authorities conducted the 23rd round of invitations under Express Entry in 2016 and 46th overall

On November 2, 2016, The Canadian immigration authorities have the 23 th   round of invitations under Input Express in 2016 and 46 th  in total since the establishment of the system. They invited 2,080 applicants to apply for permanent residency, this is the first time that a greater number of 2,000 invitations have been issued in a single draw. The lowest score on the Global Ranking System was 472, down from the previous draw. In 2016, it is the 21 th  edition in the  entrance Express system  where the score SCG lowest was in the 500.

Express Entry is an immigration system put in place by the Canadian immigration authorities (“CIC”) on January 1, 2015, which manages the demands of skilled workers under the federal economic programs. This includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Skilled Trades Program, the Canadian Experience Class and the Provincial Nominee Program.

Stakeholders expect to see future CGS scores well below 500 this year to allow Canadian authorities to meet their target annual immigration levels in 2016.

You can read our 2015 Express Entry End Report  here .

What does this mean for employers

Employers are encouraged to use Labor Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) or nomination under the Provincial Nominee Program to ensure the long-term retention of their employees.

              What it means for candidates

It is expected that the majority of applicants who will receive invitations to apply for permanent residency under the Express Entry system in 2016 will require an SCG score of less than 500 points, thus permitting permanent admission to Canada for many candidates. not having a job offer or an appointment from a provincial immigration plan. However, finding a validated job offer is highly recommended.
