Canada Study Permit
Your pathway to receiving unparalleled education as an international student in Canada.
Why You Should Study in Canada
Ranked as one of the top countries for education by U.S. News and World Report, Canada is an attractive destination for international students from across the world. It is home to 21 of the world’s top 500 universities and welcomes more than 600,000 international students every year through the study permit program.
The Study Permit
A study permit is a document issued by the IRCC, that allows international students to study at Canadian-designated learning institutions (DLIs).
Although many people use «study permit» and «study visa» interchangeably, it is important to note that a study permit is not a visa.
You are not granted entry into Canada with a study permit.
Work after graduation
The post-graduation work permit (PGWP) allows international students who graduate from a DLI the chance to work in Canada for up to 3 years.
After one year of full-time (or equivalent) skilled work, you may be able to apply for Canada permanent residence through the Canadian experience class within express entry.
Work While Studying
Gaining valuable Canadian work experience could be helpful for establishing strong business contacts, and for immigrating to Canada after graduating.
IRCC allows international students to work unlimited hours without restrictions while studying in Canada.
