A couple from the Philippines who exposed the abuse of foreign workers at the Tim Hortons in Fernie, B.C., have been granted a two-year extension of stay in Canada by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. The extension means they will be able to testify at the Human Rights Tribunal hearing, and also apply to become permanent residents.
